Continuing our daily coverage of all happenings at the COP21, here’s your day 3 happenings de-coded by UrbanMeisters. Short and to-go!
GOING GREEN MEANS GOING BACK TO GROUND ZERO
If you remember our recap of Day 2, you know that « Zeroby2050 » – global goal of net-zero greengouse-gas emissions by 2050 – is loudly emerging during this COP21. We could even say the debatable decision to limit mean temperature increase by 2°C is in a way “out”. Drivers of this movement are the 43 countries that are most vulnerable to global warming, buzzing with their demand of full de-carbonisation.
THE YOUNG ONES …. WITH ZERO POWER
And if you thought COP21 was only for diplomats, government officials and activists leaders, you couldn’t be more off the mark. A new team has risen on the horizon demanding Zeroby2050. These focused youngsters are reminding those in power that it’s really their future which is at stake and under discussion. They are making their voice heared and are debating eye on eye – with strong words and the zero painted around their eye.
The circle symbol means that we are watching the people currently in power to see whether they are going to take action to protect our future from climate disruption. And it also represents the common target of zero carbon emissions by 2050.
